Since this is such a cool idea, let’s thank April for doing this! Big props to her. She’s at Good Books, Good Wine and she made the entire thing up!) I know you would like to participate too! There will be a sign up on each day of the challenge. (Sign up here for the fourteenth challenge!)
Here are my Deal Breakers:
- If I can’t connect with the characters.
- If the plot is slow moving. (I shouldn’t be on page 100 and something and there is STILL nothing going on…)
- When the characters seem too forced. If you don’t know how to be a teen, write adult fiction. Or historical fiction. Don’t talk about songs that came out in the 80’s when they’re teens in 2013. That doesn’t make sense.
- When the plot is all over the place and there’s 3,000 things going on in the story and you don’t know what’s what.
- If I find myself doing everything but reading, it means I’m bored and obviously that’s a deal breaker.
- When people ask me to review their book and I look at the description and its erotica…. My blog CLEARLY states that I review MG/YA/NA. What would make you think I would review anything like that?!
What are some of yours?
Haha…eroitca made my list too! Great points!
