From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella…
It will take the frosty terrain of the Arctic to show these rival scientists that their chemistry burns hot.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn…
Hannah’s got a bad feeling about this. Not only has the NASA aerospace engineer found herself injured and stranded at a remote Arctic research station—but the one person willing to undertake the hazardous rescue mission is her longtime rival.
Ian has been many things to Hannah: the villain who tried to veto her expedition and ruin her career, the man who stars in her most deliciously lurid dreams…but he’s never played the hero. So why is he risking everything to be here? And why does his presence seem just as dangerous to her heart as the coming snowstorm?

*MY THOUGHTS*

I’m actually sad that I read the last one. This one just so happened to be my favorite, so it was sad to be done with them. I was so glad I listened to these separately and got to enjoy them separately. I feel like I enjoyed it more that way.

In this one, we meet Hannah who is the main character. And man, I didn’t care for her. She was mad at and hated everything. Those types of people/characters/groups bring me down all the time. And because of that, I didn’t care for her. We do learn in the end why she acts like that, but we don’t know before then and by then I had already made my mind up before that. It was just weird. She was even like that to her friends. Ian was the sweetest. This is where me and Hazelwood always agree. With the love interests lol He was so sweet and smart and thoughtful. I hated that he wasn’t given the benefit of the doubt. Hannah just steamrolled on him and never gave him a chance to explain anything.

The romance/spice in this one was better than all of them. It did seem like it was in a bunch of this story tho. For instance, it happens at the very beginning and then at the very end. And she talks about it a lot during the almost 4 hours. It seemed like that was all the book was about. Now that doesn’t bother me, but my husband heard most of this with me and he said, “Does she think about anything else? She’s always thinking about it, in a good way and/or a bad way.” lol

I also liked the setting in this one. The world-building was really good. Granted she just had to describe the weather in some cases, but she did it well enough for me to imagine the way the wind was howling and the bite that the wind would have on her cheeks. I remember wondering if she had actually done this experiment before.

Of all of these, this one was my favorite. I especially liked the ending how she wrapped all three of them up. I thought it was going to be a bit harder because it was so short, but it really flowed well. However, it did make me wonder if we’ll see any of these couples again in the actual series. I guess we’ll see soon.

This short audiobook was a fun listen for those interested in finishing something quick and fast. This worked for me, even when the others didn’t really. I was kind of sad to see this one end.

Overall, I give this
