What could go wrong?
Jessica Carrington always wanted her own happily ever after. But, until that happens, she spends her days as a small-time romance writer, penning satisfying Happily Ever Afters to soothe the heartache left by her ex-boyfriend Nick Matthews, a fellow romance writer and now her biggest rival, who has found success writing love stories without happy endings. It’s clearly what he’s good at, after all . . .
So, when their professional obligations find them snowed in – and forced to share a room! – at the same remote inn a few days before Christmas, Jess and Nick are both fuming. But what’s more fitting for two romantic writers in a slump? And when they realize the friction between them might be the only cure for their writer’s block, they decide to turn their frustration into fiction . . . and the pages start flying.
Jess can’t shake the feeling that Nick is the last guy on earth she should be falling for (again), but, as they both finally get back in their flow, is he actually all she wants for Christmas?
*MY THOUGHTS*
I added this to my TBR because a long time ago a friend read and loved Falon’s debut and I said I was going to give it a try. But then i just forgot. But then i heard this one was about a couple of romance authors and I knew this was the one I was going to try. And wow. Now I’m going to read her whole backlist lol
Ok so the main characters were my favorite part of this. I was very upset with Nick. I can’t stand when people make decisions for other people. And like as a romance author I feel like he should have known this was a stupid mistake. And Nick wasn’t alone. Jessica was annoying too. She claimed she hated him but she was always around him lol But she was so mad all the time. Seeing the two of them and how the others made them come together was so cute tho.
The romance tho? I was not expecting it lol When she finally gave up and made them sit and “talk?” Lordt. I had to stop for a minute because I literally said out loud, “FALON! Are they all like this?” lol It was so good! Now usually I don’t like second chance romance because as a Scorpio I never feel like they did enough begging, but this one grew on me. He just never said anything and removed himself. But I also hated him for that so Idk what that says about me. But when they finally got together, it was a bit explosive. But I have to admit…. I was wondering if they were doing the things that they were writing about lol
This is so short, but it really was so fun. And it was so interesting because she said it was her hardest to write in the acknowledgements. I also loved that she writes books about things that are so different. I went back and looked at all her work and she really is writing about a plethora of things. I can’t wait to read them all.
Overall, I give this
