Release Date: November 24, 2014Published by: Self-PublishedAlabama Summer, #2Source: OwnFor fans of: Realistic Fiction, New Adult, Contemporary Romance, Take Me Away After Dark, Summer Lovin, RecommendedFrom NY Times and USA Today bestselling author, J. Daniels, the second book in the Alabama Summer series.
Luke Evans is a heartbreaker.
I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out.
He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.
I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.
Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did.
I try to hate him. I try to forget him.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.
Tessa Kelly is a man-eater.
When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul.
What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want.
But she destroyed it.
She destroyed us.
I try to hate her. I try to forget her.
But it’s not that easy.
Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.
Warning: this book contains adult themes. 18+. All I Want is a standalone novel, but to fully appreciate the f****ed-up mess that is Luke & Tessa, pick up Where I Belong first.
*MY THOUGHTS*
“Love is great when you’re with someone. It’s better when it’s reciprocated. But it fucking sucks when that shit is one sided.'”

Luke and Tessa can’t stand each other after the terrible break up they just recently had. But ther reason they broke up and the reason they’re not together now is stupid. And everyone knows how they feel about each other and the situation, BUT THEM.
“It’s crazy how you can love a person and hate them at the same time. It shouldn’t be possible, but I think the more you love someone, the easier they are to hate.

The reason I didn’t like this as much as the first was the characters. I thought Tessa’s attitude and responses were funny in Where I Belong, but in this one, it was throughout the entire book! And it got annoying. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes it was super funny, but man Tessa can be a bit much at times. There were a bunch of times I wanted to tell her shut up. I also wasn’t a fan of the fact that there was so much fighting between the two of them. I was looking for the romance, but at the halfway mark when it wasn’t there, I’d started to get bored. Not that it was boring, but it was just that there wasn’t much happening. It was the same thing over and over. Fuss, fight, f**k repeat.
“Because when you fall in love with someone exactly the way they are, how do you convince yourself they aren’t enough for you?”

What I did like was of course the romance. This one was just as hot as the first installment to this series. And because they hated each other, it made it all the more HAWT. Sort of like a self-inflicted forbidden love. (Which I love!) I also loved the easy readability of this one as well. It was an easy read and I could sit down and read it anywhere. The main thing that got to me though was the freaking emotion in this book. I was not expecting to feel this much when I read it. In this one, I felt so bad for Tessa. Luke was an asshole and did some pretty asshole things. There were many times when I got so irritated for Tessa that I just let the tears well up in my eyes. I knew she deserved better, but at the same time, there was that one part of me that wanted to see them together.
“But women, they figure shit out on their own son. […] When they’re determines good fucking luck keeping them in the dark about stuff.”

Not as breathtaking as the first, but still good. I can’t wait to continue this series in the future!
