*MY THOUGHTS*
This book is a perfect example of why books and how much you like them are subjective. Because I was scrolling TikTok and I saw so many people like praising this and saying how much they loved it and I just got so confused. I could barely figure out the timeline lol
This book officially confirmed that books with too many POVs aren’t for me. I forgot who everyone was by the middle of the novel. There was nothing really that happened because she took forever trying to set it up, and I was bored out of my mind. And then when things finally did start happening, she it was ok but it kept jumping timelines and it was a bit confusing when you have so many different people. It made it feel chaotic and disjointed. And as someone who reads mostly audio because of all the things I have to do while reading, it was so hard to keep up with. I had to keep repeating some parts and in other parts I had to put down whatever I was multi-taking with.
The plot was ok, but again, the jumping back and forth was terrible. I wanted so much to like this so I let it pass. But then I realized I really had no idea what was happening. And I was hella confused by the ending? Like how in the world did we catch the person (or people) and then still have some book left? And they acted like it was nothing? So were they doing it on purpose? Or what was happening? Lol it was too much.
I did like the concept and the original thought behind it so I kept reading, but in all honesty…. I wished I had DNFed. I didn’t love it and the big reveal fell flat on me because I didn’t like it. Definitely one book I could have done without.
