AN EVIL FORCE IS FEASTING ON DESIRE…
Evelyn Kendricks is having a day. An overworked, exploited manager, she’s been dumped by her toxic boyfriend while struggling to cope with the recent ghost invasion that’s shocked the world. Devastated, she is mysteriously summoned to an eerie townhouse where she meets Linda Villaneuva, a private investigator who runs a secret mystical detective agency. She’s able to sense the emotions of others, especially those suffering from heartache.
Linda would like nothing more than to help her latest client, but she soon makes a gruesome discovery: People are losing their memories and wandering DC streets in a zombie-like daze. Their eyes, demon red. Their skin, blistered, burning…and no one understands why. Panic has begun to consume the city as more folks succumb, putting Evelyn and other residents at risk.
In the biggest case of her life, Linda follows a trail of clues to unearth an evil force far deadlier than anything she could’ve imagined. And all the while, she must reckon with the tragedies of her past and the price she’s paid for her supernatural gifts.
A layered urban fantasy that serves up spicy romance, titillating mystery, and otherworldly horror, The Broken Hearts Agency is the latest page-turner from an acclaimed storyteller.

*MY THOUGHTS*

This is going to be a rough one to review. I went into this thinking the synopsis just sounded good adn the cover was gorgeous so I knew I needed to read it. And while all of this seems like something I would love, it definitely is. But this one just didn’t hit for me the way I thought it would.

OK so if you know me you know I have a tiny issue with too many POVs. I hate them because every POV has to have their like get to know me chapter and it s like a bunch of info dumps in a row. And that was what this was. I always find it a tiny bit annoying. And that’s what happened to me. I was still interested so I kept going and didn’t let it bother me. But another thing that bothered me was the fact that I felt like it dropped me off in the middle of the story. I felt like I had no idea what was going on and I was lost for awhile. And I didn’t know why until I made it to the end of the book. Like to the author’s note. This was actually a sequel and I haven’t read the first. Which made a lot more sense to why I felt like there was a story already happening.

The plot was cool tho. I was listening to this while I was in a hotel room by myself and I was able to talk out loud, and I remember saying something like, “OMG EW” about one of the things that happened. I knew then that even though I was a bit mad, I was still into it. I liked the paranormal/supernatural part of this so much. And the way the demons were coming into the world and the way they were handling it. Some of the things they did was actually pretty bad ass lol Like when she first caught the pastor? I legit said, “DAMMMMNNNN” out loud lol The agency itself was cool and I really wanted to know a little more about it so I kept reading.

Although I didn’t exactly understand everything, I still enjoyed this in many ways. If there’s more in the series I will for sure have to go back and listen to the first one because I am already lost lol I think if I had been more aware I would have gave this more, but still as it is, I had a fun time and I think y’all will too. Just read the first one first lol

Overall, I give this
