Two storm chasers find a love that could blow them away in this electric debut romance.
Wedding photographer Sloane Michaels might spend most of her year running after brides, but she lives for the six weeks each spring she chases tornadoes instead. When the prestigious magazine Nature Shots announces a cover contest, Sloane knows that winning could be the chance she needs to break up with taffeta for good and establish herself in landscape photography.
The last thing she needs is a distraction in the form of reckless “Wild Wes” Talbot. A legend among storm chasers, he’s been Sloane’s close, personal frenemy for the last decade and is the man to beat for the cover contest.
Sloane isn’t surprised when Wes gets in an accident that jeopardizes his season. But with an active weather pattern emerging, she doubles down on her need to beat Wes fair and square, and begrudgingly invites him to join her for the remainder of the season.
As they race through hail, high winds, and stormy skies, Sloane realizes that Wes might be more than the rich, flirty, Texas wildcard she thought she knew — and that the feelings blooming between them are more charged and dangerous than the storms they’re chasing.

*MY THOUGHTS*

I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about this. As someone who watches people go to the beach when there’s a tropical cyclone in the Gulf, I wasn’t sure how this was going to make me feel. And sure enough, it gave those moments, but it also gave , romance and love. I had a good time reading this and I think y’all will too!

I watched the remake before I read this and I was terrified the entire time that it was going to have a scene like the very beginning of that one. That is just something that I didn’t want to see. I watch too many people go out there when the “waves are high” because of tropical cyclones, so I was terrified. But I had to remember that that would defeat the purpose of a story, so I didn’t have to be nervous. After that, I throughly enjoyed this!

I loved the characters. There was so much about Wes that she just assumed she knew. I was happy he got to tell her who he really was. She thought he was just a take all risks no matter the cause, but he was way more than that. He was a sweetheart who just really enjoyed what he did. He also wasn’t great at explaining things, but that’s a whole other thing lol He was a sweetheart and don’t think he deserved what y’all did to him .

The plot of this was super close to Twister. Like I said, I actually watched the remake right before it, so it was fresh in my mind.I do wish they had used the cows tho. (Both this and the remake LOL) The one thing I’m glad they kept in there was the way they helped out when the town was hit by one for real. As someone who lives in a hurricane alley type city, I was glad to see them helping out. That’s really how we are to each other in the South. I was glad we got to see a bit of the clean-up and the way she loved on the community like she did

The romance was crazy. How they bonded afer watching these natural disaters was crazy lol I think I would have been too scared to worry about romance. lol But with them, it was cute! I will say tho, she did everything in her power to push him away tho. I think I remember yelling at her and saying she doesn’t really want him because she gave up too ealy. The little “mistake” that got him in trouble with her was crazy. I got why she was so worried, but the way she just said eff everything and gave up everything, I felt like she didn’t even try. I felt like she didn’t even like him enough to try. She pushed him away with like Olympic level strength. I was glad that he didn’t give up when she did.

I wanted to learn more about the storms, but I get it, that was the movie’s angle. This one was more about photographs. We did get some info about them, and that ended up being ok with me. I just remember wanting a bit more because the writing style was so descriptive and good, I got swept away in so many things. I think if she had broken it down some more to like the rain and wind and the cyclone and just add in a few scientific terms, I hate science, but this would still have had my rapt attention lol When she described her photo, Idk why, but I could see it clearly in my mind’s eye. Frances has a way with details and it was part of the reason I loved this so much.

This was a fun book. I enjoyed it a lot. I hope y’all pick this up. Even if these things scare you, give it a chance anyways. You’re bound to find something you like in it. And don’t worry, their relationship isn’t stormy for long!

Overall, I give this
