For Readers of: Adult, Audio, Billionaire Romance, Contemp Romance, Contemporary, Dual Narrators, Dual POV, Sparkly Covers, Racial/Ethnic Diversity, Realistic Fiction, RomanceLetitia Vincent is a puppeteer who has spent the last three years pouring her heart into Jellybean Junction, a beloved but struggling children’s show barely clinging to public funding. She is quirky, creative, and fiercely protective of the show’s mission, Letitia is used to juggling multiple puppets and putting out behind the scene fires, until Rustin Hayes joins the team.
Rustin is a newly hired producer and puppeteer with a sharp mind and frustratingly magnetic presence. Rustin has big ideas for modernizing the show … and no patience for playing it safe. The two clash over everything from production style to funding strategy, but their on-screen chemistry is undeniable, even if their off-screen banter constantly teeters between flirty and infuriating.
As viewership dwindles and the network threatens cancellation Letitia and Rustin must put their differences (and feelings) aside to save the show. But the more time they spend working together, the harder it becomes to ignore the pull behind their creative sparks. Can two passionate performers with clashing visions find common ground before the curtain falls, for good.
*MY THOUGHTS*
It’s apparent that I will read anything that Kasha writes lol Because I just added this to my TBR and had no idea it was about puppets?! It was basically made to be like Sesame Street and how it was potentially being shut down and man Idk if it just made me think of my childhood, but I cried at some point lol
It may be cliche, but I was not expecting to love this like I did lol I don’t know what it is about Kasha’s writing, but I just got trapped in this story lol I couldn’t stop listening! And to add to that, I even got emotional! I felt so nostalgic while reading this. I am a product of Seasame Street, so I really felt something for this.
As for the characters, Kasha can write the hell out of some nerds lol Rustin was the biggest nerd lol A puppeteer, so I’m being so for real lol But man he did not act like that in other places LMAO It’s always the smart ones. Letitia was quirky, but a little too quirky for me. Because girl, when someone is trying to save the thing you love and nothing else is working…… Damn the capitalism. Let him take care of the show! I can see how she could feel a type of way about the changes (but even that blew me because girl what y’all are doing is what got you here LOL) but when he did the big thing, I don’t think she should have been mad. I wouldn’t have been lol And yes I realize I only care about millionaires and billionaires when they’re in books lmao I do wish we had more time with the puppets tho. They’re brought up a lot and there’s a couple different ones that she uses at the end for other things, but I would have liked to see them in action more. Like have some more of the tv scenes in the book like chapter headings. But that’s just me.
This was so much fun. I have never read anything with a puppeteer before, so this was cool and creative and unique. All the things that made this a perfect book for me! So this is my plea to get another book LOL I need a Book 2 with Rustin’s bestie!!!!
Overall, I give this
