When a girl is stuck on a cross-country flight with her ex, things get bumpy—a swoony YA rom com perfect for fans of K.L. Walther!
As if flying couldn’t get any worse.
Olive Austin just wants to get on her flight to visit her long-distance boyfriend in peace—a spring break filled with white-sand beaches, cute date nights, and soaking up the sun in Hawaii. It’s exactly what the doctor ordered…especially since lately she can’t shake the feeling that her relationship is on the rocks.
Unfortunately, when she boards her cross-continental flight she discovers that her seatmate for her 13-hour journey is none other than Tyler Ferris, her ex…a.k.a the boy that her heart never really got over.
Even though Olive’s prepared to ignore him and survive the flight with her heart unscathed, Tyler has other plans, and before long, with nowhere else to go, the past begins to resurface. Now, Olive’s feeling more confused than ever about her heart, what went down that tore her and Tyler apart, and—most importantly—what she’s going to do once the turbulence passes and the flight finally lands.

*MY THOUGHTS*

This book caught me so off guard lol I read this almost right after I read a different book that had traveling exes together and it was set in Hawaii too. I was not expecting that when I started this one. I also wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did.

Ok so the thing I loved most about this was the setting. I have never been to Hawaii and I really want to go, but after I saw that they don’t like people going on vacay there, I knew my best chance to “go” would be through books. And this one really did that for me. The food that they tried, the rock where they jumped, etc. It was actually very cool. I ended up looking up these things as well and it made me feel as if I was really there. So no I haven’t actually been, but now I can say I’ve been close lol

I also enjoyed the romance. I DID think that Tyler was doing the most a little bit, but at the same time I felt a bit bad for him. It was obvious that he loved her and she continued to break his heart. And the way she was doing it for this idiot boy who didn’t deserve anything. And it was so obvious that she liked him as well but she didn’t want to bring anything up to him because she just thought she shouldn’t. I loved Tyler so much, but I swear I wanted to wring Olive’s neck for not wanting to accept that she could be liked or loved the right way.

The ending made me want to scream because I knew exactly what they were doing. But I was also mad at the other person because they weren’t really trying to make sure she was ok, but was scared of being alone. And the other person was just trying to get back at the other. It was a bunch of nonsense. But she didn’t actually make it any better because she was still trying to punish herself for what happened before. And yeah she was a bit terrible, but I don’t think she deserved all that she was doing to herself.

If you understood that at all you know that the ending was crazy. It was a hot mess but I was so into it I didn’t mind that I had just basically read the same book with the same plot but in an adult book right before. I’m not sure if it was the writing or if it was the place, but I loved it and was happy that I got to stay in Hawaii a little while longer.

Overall, I give this
