In Gauthier, love isn’t just found. It’s forever.
Mya Dubois left Gauthier, Louisiana determined never to look back. Broadway gave her the career she dreamed of, but coming home means facing the one thing she cannot design her way around . . . the man who shattered her heart.
Corey Anderson was once the town’s reckless bad boy, the one everyone warned her about. He chased glory on the baseball field, became a professional, and has since returned to the bayou with scars, wisdom, and unfinished business. Seeing Mya again reignites the kind of passion neither time nor distance could dim.
In a town where family ties run deep and every neighbor has an opinion, Mya and Corey collide in a second chance romance that burns hotter than ever. But forever does not come easy, and this time it will take more than sparks to claim the love they both walked away from once before.

*MY THOUGHTS*

This was cute! I hated the ending, but it was ok for the most part. She made me mad with a couple things she did, but I know this is a reprint of an older book and I had to check my anger. This was probably the norm when it was first written or thought about lol But it still was crazy Idk what anyone says.

Ok so the thing I didn’t like about this was the lying. She lied to him about something HUGE. And like girl, as much as it was your body, it was also part of him. At the very least she should have told him what happened. And the reason she didn’t was because she didn’t want to get trapped there? Like girl what? And I also didn’t like the reason they were arguing. They were teens, he got drunk, and then cheated on her….. THis also happened to me when I was in high school and I immediately kicked him to the curb, so I understood why she did what she did. But for him to act like what she did was worse when it wasn’t even her fault?! Sir, go to hell. I was fuming.

The romance itself was just ok. I didn’t see the two of them actually liking each other tbh. They were more like friends with benefits. Now he loved her, but she did not like him lol It was really awkward actually. I’m not sure if I would say she didn’t like him or she was scared of him. But even with that, there would be something that gave me the impression that she liked him. But yeah, no. It was just bad….

This story is a second chance romance that I actully liked. He adored her and she was not feeling it. But he kept at it. But then he let her realize on her own that maybe she needs to get to know him again. I do wish we had more time with them together on page because we spent the whole time reading about being mad at each other. And this would have served as a good opportunity to show her avtually apologicing to him for not telling him, because she did not do a great job lol

I was on the fence with this one, but overall I enjoyed it. The plot was a little lacking, but the writing style was still there. And I still really enjoyed the small town and the idea of getting more from this town too. Basically, sign me up for the next audio. I’m excited for it and you should be too!

Overall, I give this
