For Readers Interested In: Sports Romance, Racial/Ethnic Diversity, Romance, Second Chance Romance, AdultFresh off a trade to Las Vegas, Aldridge Mosley is focused on staying sober, starting fresh, and winning a championship. But when his realtor turns out to be his ex-college girlfriend his quest for peace is threatened. Danessa is smart, stunning, and knows how to make the world melt away. He’s not looking for love for the woman who once broke his heart.
Danessa Irwin spends her days selling luxury homes she can’t afford and living a life that doesn’t feel like her own. She’s in a rut. Trapped between a career she no longer loves, a law school dream she gave up on, and a mother who always has an opinion. She’s supposed to be touring homes, not reliving the best (and most heartbreaking) relationship of her life. But Aldridge still knows how to make her laugh, still looks like trouble in the best way, and still sees her in a way no one else ever has.
Forced to face the pain of the past and the fire that still simmers between them, Aldridge and Danessa must decide if this reunion is a second chance or just history repeating itself. She’s stuck. He’s starting over. Neither of them expected another shot at love.
*MY THOUGHTS*
To be transparent, this one was a little difficult for me. One of my triggers in books is drug us and abuse, so this one was a little hard for me. Because of that, I didn’t finish this one, but what I DID read, I loved and gave it 5 stars. Because of that I didn’t add it to Amazon only because I didn’t read the whole book.
Ok so I didn’t know that these triggers were in the book before I asked to read it. I’m actually just a huge fan of Kasha’s and this series. I said I DNFed because I had to skip some chapters because there were some things in it that I just couldn’t read through. (Previous Family OD) And that’s a me thing, nothing to do with Kasha. She actually was really sweet about it when I reached out and provided the chapters to skip and everything. She was very accommodating and responded immediately.
From what I did read tho, I loved it. I believed their romance even without the bad backstory that he had. And that’s saying something. If your romance is even believeable when I’ve missed some chunks of it, I can tell it feels real. I loved Danessa so much and I was so proud of Al. They both had their hang ups, but they didn’t let that stop them. I thought they made a great couple and they helped each other so well.
I really hope y’all read this! Although small parts of it weren’t for me, this entire series IS. I loved this so much and I really hope there’s more. Kasha is one of my favorites and I hope y’all pick this up to know more about her and this series too!
Overall, I give this
