I have a weird habit of processing things through book recs. Why? Idk. But if I see something happening in the world or something I’ve played/watched/seen trending in the world, you can bet your ass I have some book recs for it. They’re mostly YA tho since I mostly read YA as a YA librarian. I DO have some adult ones up my sleeve tho so don’t count me out.) But because I have so many of these and no where to put them…..
So these are the “Northern Lights.” They are basically “natural light shows in the sky caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with gases in Earth’s upper atmosphere.” Unfortunately I live too far down South to have seen them, but I can definitely say I will be reading about them just to grab that Northern Lights high that I didn’t get to experience! So here’s some of my options!

Aurora: A Tale of the Northern Lights by Mindy Dwyer
This is a picture book that tells about the Northern Lights in a way that sounds like a legend. This book is pretty old, as it came out in 1997, but I still think it sounded like something that would entertain as well as teach. I would recommend this to librarians and teachers who want an interesting story as well as something that will give you an easy craft idea.

Escape to the Northern Lights by Carrie Walker
In this one, a lawyer gets a second chance at life. She goes to Norway to take a break and to find peace, but also finds something she least expects. Like romance and a gorgeous setting in Norway. This one is out now! I would recommend this to readers who like to travel and those looking for more in their work life and new romances.

Meet Me Under the Northern Lights by Mandy Baggot
This one is a holiday romance featuring a woman who goes on a work trip. She goes to Iceland under the guise of being able to speak a different language lol Gunnar finds her and takes her under his wing to try to help her out too. But she doesn’t seem to want it. I would recommend this to those that are looking for a holiday romance that features the Northern Lights and a sweet golden retriever MMC.

Secret Nights and Northern Lights by Megan Oliver
This one is also set in Iceland with Childhood Friends to Lovers as the trope. This book features a woman who has a bad break at work and takes a job in another country. I’d recommend this one to romance readers who are looking for a good plot, people who like travel, and those who like second chance romances and friends to lovers tropes. This one comes out on the 18th!

What about you? Did you get caught up in the Northern Lights excitement? Will you read about them in these books? Let me know in the comments!
