Two for Tuesday: National Native American Heritage Month!

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: National Native American Heritage Month

For this week I wanted to spotlight books featuring Indigenous people for National Native American Heritage Month. First is the Legendary Frybread Drive In that I actually binge read in a day! I enjoyed this book so much! I usually always feel meh about anthologies, but with this one I was hard pressed to find one I didn’t like. This anthology is filled with culture, fun, and my favorite thing ever: comfort food. As a self proclaimed Fictional Foodie, I fell in love with the way these authors incorporated food and cooking and just community from being together into these stories. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this one! [This is a YA anthology!]

As for this one, I have not finished it yet (thanks Libby 😭) but so far, this has been amazing. The audio is multi narrated. I’ve only heard a little bit of it, but from what I heard it sounds sad, interesting, and history filled. So far it features someone from the future fighting for tenure and a priest and a vampire during confessionals from the past. It also talks about the deeply sad, true events of the Marias Massacre with a supernatural twist. Just knowing this is the back story makes this story so much more chilling. I can’t wait to get my hold back in! [Also for an added bonus I’m supposed to be buddy reading this with Cassie, so hopefully my hold comes soon!] [This is an adult book]

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

What about you? Have you read either of these? Will you? Let me know in the comments!
