A Human hybrid and an Alpha Were claw against the bonds of fate in the highly anticipated companion novel to the New York Times bestselling Bride.
Serena Paris is orphaned, pack-less, and one of a kind. Coming forward as the first Human-Were hybrid was supposed to heal a centuries-long rift between species. Instead, it made her a target, prey to the ruthless political machinations between Weres, Vampyres, and Humans. With her enemies closing in on her, she has only one option left—if he’ll have her.
As Alpha of the Northwest pack, Koen Alexander commands obedience. His authority is so absolute, only a fool would threaten his mate. It doesn’t matter if Serena doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, nothing will stop him from keeping her safe.
But power-hungry Vampyres and Weres are not the only threats chasing Serena. Sooner or later, her past is bound to catch up with her—and Koen might be the only thing standing between her and total annihilation…

*MY THOUGHTS*

This was one that I was anticipating for a long time. So of course I had to read it immediately. And that I did. And let me tell you, it lived up to the hype I had in my head. For the most part.

OK so the thing I didn’t care for was the ending. This entire book was going on and they were fighting this and then at the end it just magically all was fixed. I get it one thing happened and that “helped to change their mind,” but I can’t help but think that this could have been fixed if there was one single conversation about this thing. It was ridiculous lol I normally don’t care about books that have a super wrapped up ending, but this was too much since it was talked about the whole book!

The rest of this I enjoyed. I’m not a huge fan of some aspects of the “in heat” stuff. Like why was everyone just like “Ok she’s in heat. I’ll take care of it?” Like ew. And it was alsmost everyone in the book that was a male that had met her. ANd that one person was just like oh you can have your pick and was all excited like it was a good thing. I realize that could just be a me thing tho because I don’t read a lot of wolf/mate/Omega books, so please, take what I said with a grain of salt. I don’t mean to yuck anyone else’s yum.

Everything else like plot wise, and the writing style, and the romance was good. I wasn’t a fan of Koen, because I felt like we never got to know him. (Reasons I HATE when its not Dual POV!) I had to rely on the chapter headings to get into his brain. And by then I was already annoyed because I am not an enemies to lovers person. But when he got to really talking about her, it was like a whole different character. It was awkward. But by the end I could tell that he loved her. But I WISH I didn’t have to wait until the end to realize it if that makes sense.

This was fun, but I did have some issues with it. But definitely not enough for me to put it down. I still love this series and I still hope there’s another one because that one person is still out there. I need to know what happens. Like a rose, this series has its thorns, but it also has this really beautiful flower or story that I need to know more about. I really hope there’s more!

Overall, I give this
