These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

This Week’s Theme: Creepy Dolls
Annabelle is going on a tour. And when I heard, I reacted the same way you probably did… By saying, “WTF? WHY?!” Lmao They’re calling it the Devil’s on the Run Tour and Idk why they just won’t leave her where she is! (If you’re wondering, her next stop is Pennsylvania later this month.) If you haven’t noticed, dolls are something I don’t mess with. There’s only 2 things I’m scared of, dolls and things with too many legs, so this topic creeps me out, but I’m still definitely going to read them lol In this one, the cover even creeps me out, and this is a MG. And of course, these dolls are supposedly coming to life? And the places they were?! Yeah that was enough for me to know I won’t be reading this at night lol [This is a MG book that comes out 9/30/25]
This one is a little different. I was today years old when I found out that La Isla de Muñecas was a real place. Don’t Google it unless you want nightmares forever lol It’s like the place where Syd from Toy Story let his toys go when he was done with them. Now add on to that the toys coming to life and disappearing ad reappearing and, yeah, no. I’m good. And let me just say, they’re better than me, because there is no way I’d be going to this island by myself without an adult and I AM THE ADULT lmao These kids are so brave! I can’t wait to get my hands on these books! I’m going to be scared, but I’ll also be entertained lol [This book is MG and comes out 8/26/25]
Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.
I didn’t want to do any extra doll books because they were all so old! But if you must, you can use the Mary Downing Hahn, K.R. Alexander, and I’d even count a puppet, like, R.L. Stine’s Slappy!

What about you? Are you scared of dolls like me? Have you read any of these since back in the day? Let me know in the comments!
