Have you ever looked at the young adult book section in a modern bookstore and felt out of touch or old?
No. That usually doesn’t happen until I actually read the book. ESPECIALLY since I’m a YA librarian lol And I’m not in the branches anymore, so I don’t have to hear them tell me that they don’t know who certain characters or artists are because they (the teens) weren’t born until the 2000’s lol

Ah yes, that’s a different feeling entirely! Lol. Luckily the YAs I’ve picked up haven’t really brought up modern artists or media too much. Occasionally a Taylor Swift reference gets thrown in or possibly some other song or two that I won’t know but can kind of figure out by context what it is. Or I don’t and just read on! Lol.
