TTT: Love Freebie- Grand Gestures!
I noticed that I’ve talked about the best dates and Valentine’s Day gifts that seem like a specific book, but I never talked about the grand gestures. Sooooo, here’s some of my favorites!
Grand Gestures: “Classic grand gestures from novels and films are, as you say, defined by a kind of sacrifice: hallmarks include the willingness to be rejected if, for example, you show up at the stoop of a woman you haven’t seen in years to make your proposal, or the selflessness of never receiving credit for the gesture you’ve made…”
Listen I was a little weirded out by her grand gesture, but the way she said no effs when she had on that gown, I ASPIRE to be that level of brave. She is amazing, but I can’t lie, I would have laughed my ass off if I saw that in person.
I know, I know. The grand gesture in this one is probably the scene after this, but for him to be a world known artist and to sing at an Open Mic night and THENNNNNN to sing about her? Angel will always be an angel to me lol
SPOILER ALERT: SHE TRIED TO BUY HIS HOUSE. That’s it. That’s the reason I loved it lol
I think my favorite grand gestures are those that we don’t know about until they’re done. And in this one, we had no idea what all he did to ensure she could join them. And she had no idea either. Literally the sweetest thing!
She protected someone she had been taught her whole life to hate. She literally had to open her eyes and trust him. If that ain’t grand gesture worthy, IDK what is.
Idk if this counts as a grand gesture, but as a baby sneaker head it definitely did to me lmao That epilogue scene with the Travis Scotts? *CHEF’S KISS* (I used the mochas because I myself wanted those but couldn’t get them and had to settle for the Mocha 1’s that are pretty similar but the check mark is facing right and the front of the shoe is black)
That scene where she went to the dance anyway? yeah she was brave. I don’t think I would have done that with my Black mama. Till this day I wonder if she got in trouble for that lmao
This man was literally willing to…. Well you know. I think this was the ultimate grand gesture lol
Because cleaning out someone’s bank account and traveling across the world is pretty ballsy lol
She went from NEEDING them to let her plan this party to help her along, to just letting them use her idea and caring about how it would help her anyway. Because things went very different than what she expected.
