These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!
Today’s Theme: You’re a Mean One…
So I almost started to use this one next week, but I didn’t want to end up with coal in my stocking lol It’s too close to Christmas for me to be praising the Grinch lol But anyway, here we are lol So I read this one and let me tell you, I never thought about a romance book that was a direct retelling of The Grinch. And it was very cool at how close to the original it was. I will say I have no idea why it was so long when the original was a picture book, but still, there’s a Grinch, someone’s heart grows by the end, there’s a a decoration competition. I did enjoy this, but please know I will not be eating a candy cane for the next couple Christmases lol
This one is a little more of a loose re-telling. There’s a dude who goes from being a not great human and overcomes a complete change. As he changes, the background is Christmas lights and snow, so what other choice do you have than to be a better version of yourself because of the holiday spirit? (That was eye rolly and not serious so please don’t get mad at me over that…. Don’t be a ………….grinch) This one gives Hallmark movie and I LOVED it so much!
[Both of these are Adult! And Meghan Quinn’s is significantly more spicy than Timothy’s book lol]
I also found this one, but I haven’t read because this isn’t my jam. HOWEVER it might be someone else’s out there, so yeah, I wanted to make sure you knew about it. It’s Dark Romance/Erotica/Horror. The reviews are all over the place, so please be advised that this could be really good or really bad. I wouldn’t know because I haven’t read it lol (Check your content Warnings before reading!)
