TTT: Freebie- Top 10 16 Things I’d Need to make the Perfect Holiday for NIKKI
-One of the first things I do EVERY year as soon as it gets cold outside is drink hot chocolate. And everyone else in the house hates it, but peppermint is my very favorite and I will always make myself at least one cup!
-A Christmas movie marathon is one of my favorite thing to do. I will watch the same thing over and over lol My thing right now since the season has just begun (in my house) is watch every version of A Christmas Carol I can find on tv lol I’ve also watched alllllll the Black movies I can find on Netflix and Hulu and those other streaming services I have.
-Y’all know I love me a holiday romance book. The number one thing that will put me in the festive holiday mood!
-A Black Santa is the only Santa I recognize here in this house. Why? Because I’m the elf that’s helping and unless someone else is going to offer their dollars here, the person who helps in this house is BLACK. Plus if you know me, you know I have a very large collection of Black Santas, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I want him to be Black everywhere.
-I love holiday music too! It’s so much fun and always captures the joy in the holiday for me. Although these characters don’t ONLY sing holiday music, I’m pretty sure they could come up with a great one if they tried. (But I’m asking for the love of GAWD, please don’t sing or play The Little Drummer Boy by me. My empathetic heart can’t hear it without crying!)
-The tree lighting scene in this one was one to remember. Just like it usually is in my house. I love turning it on and watching the face of all my family see it/experience it for the first time every year.
-I don’t think I’d actually NEED this to make a perfect holiday, but it certainly would help. I just don’t like dressing up, but I will do so if necessary. And if I was going to a Winter Ball, this one would be one of the times I would do it. Especially if I had a red dress like she had in this one lol
-I LOVE when family is all over the place but we all come together and spend time with each other for the holiday. I would hope that we don’t have anyone disappear like in this one, but after reading this one, you just never know lol
-Where I’m from, we do Bonfires on the beach every time it gets just a smidgen cold. But this one seemed like it was so much more fun. All the hot chocolate and the flirting between the two characters that came with it?! YAAAASSSSS! I need one exactly like this lol
-Idk if I need the competition, but I love going to look at the lights and other decor. Holiday lights just make me so happy, so I can’t imagine how a 50 foot Santa would make me feel lol
-Y’all know one of my favorite things to watch during the Holidays is none other than Homicide for the Holidays via Oxygen. (Apparently not only am I a seasonal reader, but I’m also a seasonal watcher lol) So yeah, I’d probably spend the whole day listening to the podcast from this book!
EXTRAS!
I have read A LOT of holiday romances this year, so here’s some other events that I would add to make my perfect holiday! There’s even some I haven’t added on here that might show up later lol
-I don’t need Ice Skating, but I would love to go again. But ONLY if I don’t fall. So with that being said, I’m not sure I’d want to risk it.
-I don’t like snow (or cold at all really) so this is never going to be something I NEED to have the perfect holiday. But I do think there is something that would be fun for 10 seconds lol
-Although I do come from an island, I don’t think this is a need for the perfect holiday. They normally do this at the yacht club, but we never had money to be in that club, so it wasn’t a thing I looked for every holiday.
-Again, not necessarily a MUST, but I would love to celebrate Kwanzaa with my family. I’ve been waiting until my son is older so we can make each other gifts and have fun he’ll remember when we do celebrate.
-And this one is definitely NOT a must, but it seems fun. I can’t imagine going to an island in Alaska where Christmas is celebrated year round and it NOT being fun lol This is definitely going on my list of favorite fictional places to live tho lol
**YES, all of these events are found in each of these books. What happens at these events are what made me add this to the list! ALSO, this is not all of the holiday books I’ve read this season. I’ve also been reading some mysteries too, but I didn’t think that’d be a great list….. Unless that’s what you want? Let me know if you do!**

Ooh nice list! These are all fun things and I love that you have books that have these events/items taking place! That’s dedication! The mystery list would be fun too! I’m not much of a holiday reader myself as the books I read never really tend to focus on holidays. If one happens it’s just a side event, there and gone. A mystery list would definitely be fun for a future freebie topic! Or for just a fun post for sooner!
