Halloween Freebie: Books that Remind Me of Horror Movies!
I know I’ve done this before, but these are more accurate now lol
- It & There’s No Way I’d Die First by Lisa Springer: There’s a clown and I’ll just say they know what to use to get into your head.
2. Scream & Rest in Peaches by Alex Brown: There’s a bloody high school party and just a bloody high school situation overall. All with a weird ass obsession with a mascot???
3. Friday the 13th & You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight by Kalynn Bayron and/or Two Sides to Every Murder by Danielle Valentine
4. The Exorcism & Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman: Let’s just say… In both, there’s a girl………. And something ain’t right in either one lol
5. The Mist & So Witches We Became by Jill Baguchinsky: When I read this earlier this year I had no idea what it was about. So when I saw that there was a type of mist that’s also in it? Yeahhhh you just gotta read it to understand.
6. Halloween & I was a Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones: In Halloween Michael Myers is ALWAYS right there. He’s always somehow still alive. And in Teenage Slasher, they tell you HOW this happens. And I think I loved that.
7. Them & We Came to Welcome You by Vincent Tirado: Both welcome a Black family to a weird ass neighborhood lol
8. Black Swan & I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast is Me by Jamison Shea: Both have ballerinas that are on the brink of stardom, but then have something very damaging happen to them……….. Themselves lol
9. Stay Alive & Such Lovely Skin by Tatiana Schlote-Bonne: Both of these have a weird ass game that people shouldn’t be playing. Like EVER lol
10. The Craft & The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland: Both are a group of witches who find each other and learn magic.
11. **BONUS** I added this as a bonus since The Weight of Blood is actually a retelling of Carrie. I loved the original so I knew I was going to love The Weight of Blood. And sure enough, FIVE STARS!
Well there you have it! I TOLD you these were better this time lol I hope you pick up one or read or watch one (or both) on this holiday! If you do, let me know which one!
What about you? Have you watched any of these? Have you read any? Did you see my original post of this? Let me know in the comments!
Oooh very intriguing! I am a chicken when it comes to horror movies, so I’ll likely never see any of these movies ever! Lol. I’ve caught parts of a few here and there, like Carrie, and one of the Halloween ones, possibly the first. There are so many now! But I am intrigued by these books, especially the one where you say they explain how Michael keeps coming back! Never really watched the movies, but every time a new preview pops up I always ask, how is that dude still alive?! Lol.
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
