The Inheritance Games meets Ocean’s 11 in this thrilling YA adventure about a teenager determined to pull off the perfect heist in the midst of her father’s wedding.
Seventeen-year-old Olivia Owens isn’t thrilled that her dad’s getting remarried…again. She’s especially not thrilled that he cheated on her mom, kicked them out of their Rhode Island home, and cut Olivia out of her rightful inheritance.
But this former heiress has a plan for revenge. While hundreds of guests gather on the grounds of the gorgeous estate where she grew up, everyone will be thinking romance—not robbery. She’ll play the part of dutiful daughter, but in reality she’ll be redistributing millions from her father’s online accounts. She only needs the handwritten pass code he keeps in the estate’s safe.
With the help of an eclectic crew of high school students and one former teacher, Olivia has plotted her mid-nuptial heist down to the second. But she didn’t plan for an obnoxiously nosy wedding guest, an interfering ex-boyfriend intent on winning her back, greedy European cousins with their own agenda, or a vengeful second wife. When everything seems like it’s going wrong, Olivia has to keep her eyes on what really matters: getting rich. And when she’s done, “something borrowed” will be the understatement of the year.

*MY THOUGHTS*

I hate reviewing these kinds of books because it’s so hard to do so without spoiling even the tiniest thing. I think I even put something on Goodreads as a way to update my reading and then it came to the end and I was right af and it was a spoiler lmao So yeah, if this review is terrible and doesn’t give much…. Well that’s why.

First off, I just want to give a round of applause to myself lol This is the first book by this author duo that I’ve ever read all the way through lmaoooo For the most part, all their other ones I’ve DNFed. And the way I’ve always felt so bad because I love the covers and the synopsis always sound good. but the characters are also so annoying and it got hard to read. So imagine my surprise when I saw that the main character in this one was trying to get revenge on her father for unspeakable things. And she was handling it like an effing boss. This main character has surpassed all the others they had by like 1000% and I was there for it.

Ok so the way this heist goes is nothing short of a shit show. Sorry, there’s no other way to say this lol It really was a shit show. No matter how much she had planned and how things were going, NOTHING worked and it was stressing me out. I just remember asking myself “WHAT ELSE CAN HAPPEN?” And because of this, I was seriously contemplating loosing sleep and finishing this in one day lol I only mention this because I saw a couple reviews that DNFed this that said they didn’t like the constant twists and turns. My guess is it can get quite overwhelming for some, but for me, I enjoyed this so much more than whatever it was that happens in their other books.

The heist is crazy, so the plot is too. Even though I was able to pull out some of the twists, I didn’t catch all of them. Because Lordt knows, there’s a ton of them. But even still, the plot is easy to follow and it was a fun experience. I once read that I read suspense and horror because I know I’m safe in my home and I can experience these weird instances in the comfort of my own home. And this is so much more plain after I’ve read this book lol There is no way I would have been in this type of situation in real life. The plot twists and turns so much that I wouldn’t be able to catch my breath in real life. Hell I barely could in the book.

The characters were great! I loved that she hand picked them and all the different ways she hand picked them. I’m not gonna lie, it made me think about who I might pick and for what lol In case you know I ever try to steal millions away from my terrible ass father lol All the characters have these really weird reasons for saying okay and I loved that. Like one was so they could get a cut and open up a bakery. Like really, you’re going to risk jail time for a storefront?! They were all absolutely bonkers and that was why I mostly enjoyed it.

This book (much like this review lol) was all over the place. I’m still reeling a bit about this lol And at the end there’s a like a spot where there’s an insert for a sequel, and Lordt idk if my heart can take it. I’ll read it, but it can’t be like this one lol

Overall, I give this
