Two for Tuesday: Secrets We Keep

These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!

Today’s Theme: Secrets We Keep

I didn’t know what this was going to be about, I just read it because I wanted to see why I suddenly had so many holds on this book. And when I did read it, I found out that the secret wasn’t at all what I was expecting. It’s abuse that one of the main characters is hiding from everyone, but when I tell you I was wrong about everything, like the who, the what, the when, all of it. But I will say check your content warnings for this one before you read. Yes, there is abuse (recounted on page) but there are more.

The abuse on this one is shown on page, but it is more paranormal like. Idk how to explain it without spoiling this. But let’s just say he wasn’t the person everyone thought he was. And the main character kept that secret because she thought no one would believe her. I felt so sad for her reading this. This was one of my first reads of this year and here it is June and I’m still thinking about it.

Well, there you go! Here I’m just going to talk about why I grouped these two books together. I hope you enjoyed a look at this small part of the books. For a full synopsis of the book or to add it to your TBR, click the picture and it will take you to their Storygraph. The link on the caption will take you to it’s Goodreads.

Have you read either of these? Will you pick them up? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments!
