These themes will vary! It could be based off of some book mail I just received, pop culture, something personal to me, a headline from the news, a trend I noticed when I was buying books for my library system, etc. I hope you stick around to see all the themes and book recs I come up with!
Today’s Theme: Social Media Darlings
I know this isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but for whatever reason I LOVE when a book features social media. I think it’s because my favorite books are contemporary. I like seeing the real, current world reflected in the book. Now this isn’t the social media I like to look at lol but in this instance, the social media in question is like Only F@ns. This book is adult and it is spicy, but it is also a nice Christmas story, with a plus size bi FMC and a bi MMC. They meet while they are are working together on an adult Christmas movie. I know it sounds weird, but this was actually one of my favorite books of the year when it came out lol I’m now on the countdown to wait for the third book in this series and the second novella that comes out in July lmao
This one is also about a FMC who is on a site like the above one. This one is different. She realizes that this is the dude she connected with over the site a couple years ago while she’s working as the live in nanny to his daughter. Talk about awkward lol But I had to know what happened. And while I thought it was too long, I did like the little snippets from their convos. I was a little upset because I wanted more of them on line, but when she got there she had already stopped. But eh, it was still ok.
