*MY THOUGHTS*
I don’t know what’s going on with me, but I am really into holiday romances right now. And this one came across my computer and I had to grab it as soon as I could. A book that had Christmas and Hanukkah?! I was excited! But this was more drama filled than anything else. The only thing it didn’t skimp on was holiday cheer.
One of the main characters, Miriam, was really was not close with her parents and only spoke to her parents at a designated time on a designated day of the week. But when her aunt passes, she gets some information that she’s a new partial owner of the Christmas tree farm. With someone who she’s not a fan of and they’re not a fan of her either. Noelle is the one who wants Miriam gone and to run the tree farm by herself. Yes they were enemies, but things quickly accelerated to more than that in the story.
This book was cute! Yes, even the enemies to lovers part was really cute. And you know that’s saying something because y’all know how I am lol I only liked this so much because NOELLE WAS BOUT THAT LIFE. Thank the good person up above because she told Miriam like it was. And when she messed up, she knew she messed up and apologized. There was no dragging it out and hating each other because they didn’t know anything. Now there were some times when they got mad at each other and didn’t think about it until later, but still. I can definitely say I like this so much better than just reckless fighting all the time.
The writing style was ok, but I wanted a little more descriptive things? Like it was a Hanukkah/Christmas book, but it was filled with so much grief and and anger and all the things. It’s definitely a book that is more on the emotions side. There’s lots of feels there and though that wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t what I was looking for in a holiday romance.
The narrators were really good tho. I always love dual POV books that have different narrators. It brings something completely new to the book. And both of them were really good. I also really liked how they were with the emotions. Because like I said there were alot of them here. They handled them correctly and they didn’t feel forced or anything and I loved that. As an audiobook I’m always just looking for things to flow easily. And this one does exactly that.
