Two best friends have one week to return a lost love letter found in a candy store—and to work up the courage to confess to the deep feelings between them—in this romance novella from the acclaimed author of How To Fail at Flirting.
Teagan’s job in an airport candy store pays the bills but she dreams of traveling the world. With one week until she boards a plane for an international adventure, she finds an abandoned love letter in the store and talks her BFF into helping her figure out who it belongs to.
Silas solves problems for a living as an airline customer service representative. One problem he can’t solve is how to reveal a big secret to his best friend that would risk changing their entire relationship. When she proposes they work together to get the love letter back to its owner, he jumps at the chance.
Teagan and Silas stumble on romantic clues, old stories, and more than a few dead ends along the way while trying to play Cupid, all of which bring them closer together. With only a few days before Teagan’s transatlantic move, the two of them must decide if the sweet temptation of falling for their best friend is worth the potential heartbreak or if either can stand to keep their feelings wrapped up.

*MY THOUGHTS*

I almost didn’t post this review. I almost took the day off because the world is burning down and my anxiety is sky high. But then I realized it had nothing to do with the book and I promised I would review it. Hopefully this will help me escape my anxiousness for a while as I talk about a book I really enjoyed.

This one was actually my favorite. I think because my favorite thing is friends to lovers. They were so cute. So cute in fact that I didn’t understand how Teagan didn’t know that he was completely in love with her. Or the fact that he wasn’t actually with his girlfriend anymore. Because like I knew well before he told us. In fact, I thought the letter was from him the whole time. When they finally happened I was hella excited and I thought they were so cute! Even if Teagan wasn’t the most observant.

The one thing I had a problem with was the pacing. I was glad this was a novella because if this had been a full length novel, I would have been bored. I liked that their searching for the author of the note brought them to other characters and their love stories, but we don’t have the same connection that we do to the main characters, so I didn’t really care. The mystery itself was cool, but after they hit the snag and couldn’t figure out who it was, it got a little boring.

The Sweet Shop has been my favorite part of the other two books. I think because it was the thing that was consistent in both of them. But when it came down to it, Teagan didn’t even really like being there. I liked that the truffles were still there, but I wanted to see more of it. Or at least more of it in a positive light. She was constantly bringing up that she couldn’t do more with the flavors and that she was so ready to go etc. I get it. You’re leaving the country. But it got overbearing and it made it seem like the place I was most interested to see was like a bad place for her.

The ending was cute. I was hoping there was another one for the couple that was introduced at the end of this book. Super cute! And I think they need their own story because listen, all the information they have and all the things they’ve seen as an older (? In my mind they are lol) couple, I can only imagine them telling us about it. So Williams, if you’re listening, can we have that please? It would be DOPE.

This was my favorite of the three, but it didn’t come without its flaws. I think this is the last one, but I wouldn’t be opposed to getting another one. Guess we’ll have to see what happens. It seems like the possibilities for romance at this airport are endless.

Overall, I give this
