Freebie: Top 10 Books these Christmas things remind me of!

I’ve read an absurd amount of Holiday books already this year, so I’m feeling festive. So for my Freebie, I’m going to go with:

Top 10 Books these Christmas things remind me of!

–Christmas Lights: I always try to go see Christmas Lights at least once during the season because they all make me feel warm and fuzzy. One book that I read this year that made me feel warm and fuzzy too was Written in the Stars by . I loved watching the two of them fall in love and ugh it was just so cute! I can’t wait to read the last one that comes out next year!

–Christmas Tree: The very first thing I do when I’m feeling festive is put up my tree. It’s the first sign that I’m feeling festive. Book wise, the first sign I’m feeling festive is when I pull out the holiday romances. This year I started early, with The Holiday Switch by Tif Marcelo.

–Ugly Christmas Sweaters: These are usually ugly, but the person wearing them is usually in good spirits and is a wonderful person. This is reminds me of It’s Kind of a Cheesy Love Story by Lauren Morrill. It was a 4 star read for me, but the cover was not my favorite. Enough for me to not buy it……

-Christmas songs: Everyone likes to put on Mariah Carey as soon as the holiday season comes around, but my go to is The Temptation’s Silent Night and the entire Jackson 5 album. These songs remind me of my childhood. Just like Gilded by Marissa Meyer. It’s definitely NOT the version I read back then lol but the “core” of the story was still there lol

–Cookie Weekend: Since I was a little girl my mom and my sisters and me all got together and made cookies to leave for Santa. We made 3 dozen chocolate chip, 1 dozen sugar, 1 dozen peanut butter, 1 dozen oatmeal raisin, and 1 dozen gingerbread. I think it’s the family closeness that I love. In Alot Like Adios by Alexis Daria, the family dynamic was one of my favorite parts. I can definitely see my sisters reacting to the way her cousins did when they found out what happened.

–Mistletoe: This one was easy. This one is of course all about the kissing. (I actually learned from another book that I just read that mistletoe is actually pretty gross, but I didn’t want to go that route lol) So my favorite smexy times book this year is a TikTok sensation and is actually a great read for this time of year…. It’s Window Shopping by Tessa Bailey.

–Santa: He’s legendary. Everyone’s heard of him. Much like ANOTHER another TikTok sensation…. Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas. Everyone knows Daddy Pike and all “the things” they get up to, so I thought this one was a great choice.

–Milk and Cookies / Carrots and Celery: So fun fact, once I started playing Santa for my younger sibling, I got to eat the milk and cookies she left out. So I always guided her on what to leave out so I would actually want to eat them lol And the carrots and celery started with me when I was little when I said “But aren’t the reindeers hungry too?” And ever since we’ve left some out. This tradition is one of my favorites and it got me thinking about what book I read this year that I would want to share with my family. And that was definitely Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon. The ending is a doozie, be careful.

–Coca-cola Bears and Hershey Kisses Bells: These are traditions that I share with every 80’s baby everywhere lol So for this one I wanted to use something that I thought that everyone loved. (Well at least in my neck of the woods lol) People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry is one that I haven’t seen a negative review for yet!

–The Grinch: Lol you may be wondering why I even brought this up after this good list, but I just wanted to remind people that he started off mean, but ended up loving Christmas just as much as everyone else. Just a reminder to always remember to give people a chance and don’t give up on them. That’s why picked Hades from Neon Gods by Katee Roberts. Ok, listen I don’t want to spoil this, but if you’ve read it, you know what I mean lol
