Have you ever gotten a book signed by the author?
Back when the world was open, I was able to go to this work conference called TLA or Texas Library Association’s Conference. I met some wonderful authors there that held signings all the time. Here are some of my favorites!:
Tomi Adeyemi: She is still wonderful! In this picture I am crying because I was telling her how much it meant for me to see girls that look like me in her fantasy book and how I felt being able to recommend it to other girls of color.
Me and Kerri Maniscalco! I helped to start her line. I think the signing was at 11:30 and we got there at like 9?
And then there’s my favorites, Marissa Meyer! I like Meyer so much I have multiple copies of her books. And she took the time to sign all of the ones she had out at the time. This pic is from when I first met her. The books are the ones that she signed at the time. Over time I also got Heartless and got most of my copies of that signed by her as well.
Please y’all, do right! I really want to go back outside. At least for conferences lol I need to be able to go back to TLA!
