Tournament of Books 2021!

No post today because I’m going to be busy judging this Tournament again! I did it like 2 years ago and I’m really excited to do it again! This Tournament always gets me excited to see teens reading the books and seeing how they process and understand everything. This year the Tournament is virtual, so it’s not exactly as fun as it was last time, but it’s still going to be fun!

So a little background about it, TOB is basically a tournament that gets teens from all over Harris County into a team and they have to read 12 books. Once they finish those books, they come to the championship game. Once there, they have to answer trivia and then answer short answer questions. They then tally up the points and there is one winner. It’s pretty fun and it’s awesome to see teens get so excited and so involved in books. It always makes me feel better when for when I hear that “teens don’t read.” I always bring out my pictures and say. “I beg to differ.” If you’re interested in the books we chose this year, they are pictured below. As a judge I was instructed to read Kent State, Dragon Hoops, Stamped, and Punching the Air. The other books are broken up and given to the other judges.

So if you’re looking for me, find me on Twitter and Instagram, I’ll probably be posting pictures and updates as we go along! I’ll let you all know the winners as soon as I’m able! I haven’t worked on a Saturday in a long time, so please send good thoughts lol
