*MY THOUGHTS*
This was not the book I was expecting it to be. And although I knew what was going to happen at the ending because of the events at the beginning, I was not happy with them. But you all read it and tell me what you think.
When Grace comes back around, things are not exactly the way she left them. Apparently she’s been encased in stone for 4 months. She has no memory of what happened. The only thing she knows for certain, is Hudson is back in a strange way and is starting to wreak havoc on Katmere and the world. Also, as it turns out, she’s a rare paranormal that hasn’t been around for years thanks to the organization, The Circle. Who wants to come to the school to check out Grace and all she can do. Hudson and Jaxon agree on one thing… This isn’t good.
Of all the things I was expecting from this story, this love triangle wasn’t it. I mean they barely got together in Crave and now you’ve wrenched them apart for the whole of this book? I could have done without reading and getting close to Jax if that’s the case. And I’m sorry, but the person who she ends up with is really gross. Like of all the people in this book that you’ve introduced us to, you couldn’t have made it be anyone else?
As for the writing style, I did like the games and the action. It did get a bit repetitive, but I was willing to overlook it because the game was actually so interesting. But when it was the same game over and over, you can see why I thought it was repetitive. Even with different winners.
But the characters were still good and the setting was still cool, but I do wish there was more world-building. I think there’s so much more wild life and cool things around Alaska that we could see, but we’re stuck in the school the whole time except one time during the northern lights.
Lastly, I did like the plot. It was interesting to see how they would overcome all the hurdles and everything they ran into. I did guess what was going to happen with that love triangle, but it was so blatantly obvious, I’m thinking she wanted people to catch on? I’m not sure, but there other than that, the plot wasn’t too bad.
This wasn’t the smash hit I was was expecting after reading the first one, but it’ll do. Can’t say I’m as excited for the next one as I was for this one. And if they continue to move forward with that one thing, I’m not sure I’ll even finish it. Guess we’ll find out.
