This bookish meme tells the blogosphere what all we borrowed, bought, and received for review. It’s hosted over at Tynga’s Reviews.

From the Library:

If you know me, you know that watching Scooby Doo helps calm my anxiety spirals, so I have been looking forward to this movie for what feels like SO. LONG. I finally got it in this week and I’m so excited. As for 28 Summers, I’m not a huge Hilderbrand fan because of how much drama is always in her books (seriously, I don’t want anyone to ever tell me about YA and their drama ever again lol) but because this was the book James Patterson had alongside his book The Summer House, I had to at least see what it was about. I plan to listen after I finish All American Boys.

For Review:
Twins

Super cute graphic novel that showed up at my house. I had thought it was something else, and I can’t deny I was a little upset, but this is cute also and I want to read it ASAP.

Bought:
The Pool Boy (Nashville Neighborhood, #2)

Soooooo I was looking through Instagram the other day and someone suggested this book. I went to Goodreads and saw that it was the second one in a serious. So naturally, I had to find the first. So I did. And then I read the it in one sitting. Then I immediately pre-ordered this one and am waiting for a solid block of time when I can read this one in one sitting too! (**THIS IS NOT YA**)

Me on Instagram:

I finally got to see my parents after 5 months. It was good to see they were ok. I went down to Galveston and spent National Book Lover’s Day on their front porch to read.

I’m planning a creative journaling program for my teens, so I decided to make a spread I can use for an example. And of course, I realized AFTER I had already did it in marker, that the f bombs were loud and glaring…. So I said yeah, we have to do a take 2 lol

So trying to keep track of the publishers who said we could read what book online until what date was way too stressful on the children’s people at my library. So, I came up with the idea of Story Time to Go. It’s basically a story time bundle. It has songs, finger plays, early literacy tips, a craft, and a book. The only thing that has to be returned is the book. We will film a video every week that will go through all the songs and things and tell parents when will be a good time to read the book to their child and to pause it while they read. Then they can resume with the rest of the video after they’ve finished the book. The themes change from week to week and we have them in English and Spanish. If you use this idea, we don’t mind, just please credit us! My library is trying to justify getting a bigger building and showing how we’re helping our (and other) communities might help! (Email me at pnh002@gmail.com if you want to know what library I’m at!)

I can actually use this one! No glaring f bombs lol I really like this one too and wanted to show y’all. I think I want to start doing one reading journal entry per week. More if I can get away with it. These are so fun to make and they are definitely a stress reliever for me. I don’t want to ruin it by trying to do one for every book I read. It will turn into a chore more than a hobby and I don’t want that.

What about you? What did you get this week? What did you get? Did we get any of the same things? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Oh nice! I still need to see Scoob myself! I kept hoping it’d pop on NEtflix but I might have to check out my renting avenues! Maybe next weekend. Though I still have a large stack of my own movies that I need to watch for the first go-around! Lol.

Hope you enjoy your movies and new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!
