Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth–her sister’s friend Sophie didn’t kill herself. She was murdered.

Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn’t actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else’s mind and experiences the world through that person’s eyes. She’s slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed “friend” when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie’s slashed body.

Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can’t bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting distant lately, especially now that she’s been spending more time with Zane.

Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.

*My Thoughts*
I cannot lie and say I absolutely loved this book, because that is just not the case. But what I can say is that I did enjoy it. It takes you on a wild ride, but you can only barely enjoy it because to me the author writes with out passion. She tells you exactly what is going on in the book, but she does not add any descriptions and the biggest scenes in the book lasted only seconds and it had nothing to make the scene seem as if it mattered
In the story cheerleaders are turning up dead. It seems to be suicide, until Vee a pink haired girl comes along. She watches the first “suicide” through another person’s eyes. She tends to do that when she sleeps. She can “Slide” into another person by touching something of importance to that person that they emotionally imprinted on. Sounds exciting right? That’s what I thought. Until I read it.
As hype as the synopsis explains the book, I wasn’t impressed.  I was expecting way more action and suspense. It just seemed bland. I like to read big descriptions (not too much, but enough to give me a good picture in my head), not something that tells exactly what is going on in the book. I use that description the author uses to draw every bit I can about the character, such as their feelings. I couldn’t connect with these characters whatsoever.
I did like the ending though. It came to something I definitely wasn’t expecting and its pretty hard to trick me. (But then again, I was going through alot at the time… ) So, all in all, the beginning was a little boring but the ending made it a little easier to swallow. Because of this, I will give the next book in the series a chance.

Overall, I give this

  1. I agree with your review. It wasn't the greatest book ever, but I did enjoy reading it. It was pretty short and easy to read. Not too deep. I'd still like to read the next book to see what happens.

  2. I have seen this book around a lot and it sounds good! Thanks for the review, now it won't be at the top of my TBR!

  3. I'm sorry it wasn't as good as you expected it to be! I was lucky enough to win this book in a giveaway, and since I'm a huge mystery junkie, I was pretty excited about this book too! I'm the type of person who loves descriptions as well as action & suspense, so I suppose this shouldn't be on the top of my TBR either. Thanks for the great review!

  4. I enjoyed Slide. I did. I just think that it needed MORE. It would have benefited from another 100 pages with more action and suspense. More Sliding. I will definitely read the next book when it comes out, but I am hoping that more clicks. I think you are 100% right, it needed more PASSION. Passion could have made a good book, a GREAT one. Thanks for the review.
