(incoming freshmen), Romance, Music, Taylor Swift, 2slgbtq+, Multiple POVs, Audio, Realistic Fiction, Contemporary, Series CompanionFour girls, all named Taylor, make for one unforgettable friendship! New York Times bestseller Elizabeth Eulberg follows four stories of first love, friendship, and heartbreak. Don’t miss the sister novel, Jen Calonita’s The Taylors!
Not all friendships are forever and always . . .
Teffy, Tay, Taylor, and TS have been best friends since middle school. As they enter their high school freshmen era, relationships bring on the drama.
Teffy is crushing on the boy next door who belongs to someone else. Tay finds herself down bad for a tortured poet. Things get treacherous as an older boy starts flirting with Taylor. And TS is definitely focused only on soccer and doesn’t fancy her new teammate, a cute London girl . . . right?
Suddenly, it feels like everything has changed. Pulled in different directions between navigating high school and new relationships, will their friendship be long lived or is it so long, Taylors?
*MY THOUGHTS*
I was a little hesitant to read this. Taylor isn’t showing the world that she’s actually not ok with this admin using her music, so this made me wait a bit to read this. But when the hold came in at the library, I knew it was now or never. And after reading it, I feel the same way about the next one as well lol
OK so the main thing was the music. I thought this was going to be full of lyrics and scenes from the songs, but for the most part it wasn’t that? It was more like they were just there as motivators. Like something would happen and they wouldn’t let themseves give up because they thought “Taylor would do XYZ.” And I while I don’t love this (she wouldn’t show up at all when times got hard so…) I do know and understand that some people do react this way about and to her.
As for the romances, I liked all of these girls, but literally none of them had had any kind of talk about boys and romance to anyone before. They did the exact thing that parents worried about. They got to high school and lost their mind. Literally all of them had an issue with their person. For this to be love stories, I have to say, I didn’t like any of them lol I really wanted to shake them and try to figure out wtf they were so willing to just give everything away.
I also got really made at some of them tho. They were friends for so long, but ONE PERSON who they met yesterday let them just be like eh don’t hang out with them anymore. Or eh let me lead you on until I realize you don’t make real music. I was so annoyed. How can you let these idiots come in-between you and your friends who you’ve known forever? And like I get it, there should be one story like this, but every one of them was bad. I literally didn’t like any of the relationships. Even the sports one. And that one was a little different than the others, and I still didn’t like it. They need to wait before they date anyone else lol
Even if you’re not a fan of Swift, this book was a bit fun. This isn’t completely about her and her songs, but they do make a lot of references to her. There’s still lessons to be learned and more in this one. I hope if y’all do pick this one up, you’ll get something out of it.
Overall, I give this
