This bookish feature is an original by me! I had the epiphany for this the other day when I was writing out my 15 bookish confessions. (See #7) A lot of times I like to go “beyond the book” and do something that will connect me with the book and characters a little more. It will pop up on Mondays! Be on the look out for which books caught my eye and made me go beyond just reading it!
“Being fearless isn’t the point. That’s impossible. It’s learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.”

Today’s Beyond the Book has Minor Spoilers, so be warned!
So everyone knows where Four (Tobias) got his name from, because there were only FOUR things that he was really afraid of…. Since we’re doing the “Dark and Stormy Week at Take Me Away” and the recent release of the last book in this series, Allegiant, I decided to let y’all in on what actually scares me! I wish I was like Four or even Six (10 points to you if you remember who that is lol) I’m pretty sure my nickname is like “Baker’s Dozen” lmao So, if you were to ever go through my Fear Landscape, I’m pretty sure you’d at least find these things:
1. Spiders. You guys I’m not kidding. I have arachnophobia. Like I don’t even care if they are smaller than my fingernail. They have wayyy too many legs and it freaks me out lol
2. Cancer. I had two family members on both sides of my family members pass away from it. I had to watch them with the illness for so long that it definitely scared me. I’m deathly afraid that I or someone else in my family or someone else I am close to will find out they have it.
3. The Dark. When I was a little girl, my cousins put me in a closet and would bang on the doors and tell me a ghost was coming and make the vacuum turn on inside the closet. It freaked me out. To this day I still can’t sleep without some light from the tv.
4. Feet. Ok I know this sounds weird, but I don’t like them. I don’t like when people wear tennis shoes and their feet are sweaty and I don’t like when people wear sandals and their feet look weird or they’re dirty. It freaks me out. And before you think I’m strange, its an actual phobia, podophobia to be exact.
5. Socializing. This one isn’t that hard to believe seeing as I am an introvert. Having to get up, put on pants, and talk to actual real people stresses me out. In order for me to actually do this, some drinking must be involved lol
6. Roaches. Self-explanatory.
7. Claustrophobia: Yes I’m another one that’s afraid of closed in spaces. I don’t even like to be in an elevator. And if said elevator has more than 3 people on it, I will take the stairs. I don’t care how high we’re going up.
8. Spoilers. I never read reviews for books until I’ve finished the book and have finished writing my own review. I HATE knowing what’s going to happen in a book before I’ve read it. I’m even afraid of them in movies. I know yall may be excited, but keep the feels to yourself please! (I have been lucky enough to have avoided any and all spoilers for Allegiant! I muted it on my Twitter feed. Shame I had to do that, but I’m not taking any chances! I have no idea how it will end and I want to keep it that way until I get to it.)
Have you ever had such a connection with a book that you had to go beyond just reading it?
